Asian fusion

Are you interested in authentic Chinese delicacy --- congee, which is also known as rice porridge? This time-honored eatery was opened in 1997 and its branch, Congee Bowery, was found eight years after in 2005. The restaurant is proud to present you with a menu of over 400 original Chinese Cantonese dishes and specialties.

Congee Village is a dine-in and take-out eatery which offers 200 comfortable seats within an 8,000 ft2 dining space. The sylvan interior features a wooden hut, fake trees, a canopy of leafy greens, and a large mural of a sun-dappled mountainside. The traditional Chinese style decoration is to offer customers a more upscale and special dining atmosphere.

Rice porridges, eaten from Japan to Persia as breakfasts, snacks, and lunches, are considered warming and soothing, as well as a stabilizing influence on the stomach and digestive tract. With nearly 30 different congee-based rice porridges and soups and 10 dishes of rice served in bamboo pots, apparently, Congee Village is very proud of its exquisite congee. However, Congee Village is more than just congee. The wide varieties also offer you a taste of many other Asian cuisines. When asking about the restaurant’s signature dishes, the owner proudly recommends Chilled Dungeness Crab, Chicken w. Black Bean Sauce in Sizzling Hot Plate, and House Special Chicken. New dishes are launched monthly to freshen customers’ appetite.

The owner always insists in presenting the finest things to his loyal returning friends. He is glad to see western people are becoming hot fanciers of Chinese dining culture and is making great effort with his staff to reveal customers the essence of Chinese food.
